I was born in Germany and started studying Musicology, Theatre Studies and Geography at the Ruhr-Universitaet Bochum in Germany. Since I was not only interested in the scientific side of music, I also took up Classical Voice Studies with Soprano Elke Dahn, at that point specialising in art song and oratorio.
After graduating in 1999 and singing mainly classical repertoire for a few years, I also began a Musical Theatre Course at the Stage School of Music, Dance & Drama (Hamburg), which led to a Certificate in Musical Theatre Performance. My tutors were Thomas Christ, Sven Niemeyer and Anja Launhardt. During the years, I was also supervised by Mezzo-Soprano and Musical Theatre Performer Claudia Schill ("Evita"/Bremen) and Soprano Claudia Duschner in Essen/Germany.
I have been singing in stage shows and concerts (both as a soloist and ensemble/chorus-member) as well as organising my own concerts. Shows, concerts and masterclasses have taken me to the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland and Switzerland (detailed artistic CV on request).
It did not take long until I started getting enquiries about singing lessons - I have been tutoring for 5 years now, which I very much enjoy. So it is no surprise that since moving to Scotland in 2006, my main focus is being a singing teacher for both classical and contemporary singing techniques. Apart from my private students, I also work with local bands, music- and theatre groups.
My ongoing professional development includes a diploma in drama education (specialising in vocal training), bodywork (Yoga, Progressive Muscle Relaxation, Feldenkrais, Alexander-Technique), Dalcroze Eurythmics, functional vocal training after Reid, Speech Level Singing, Estill Voice Training and Complete Vocal Technique (C. Sadolin).
